01What should a peptide batch quality package contain?
A practical batch package begins with the approved specification and a COA linked to the actual lot supplied. The COA should identify the product or sequence, SKU, batch number, test date, acceptance limits, numerical results where applicable and release authorization. Supporting evidence may include an HPLC chromatogram for purity and a mass spectrum for molecular identity. Peptide content, water, counter-ion, residual solvents, bioburden, endotoxin or other tests are separate attributes included only when the intended context and agreement require them. Confirm whether files are summary reports, representative formats or lot-specific raw evidence. Names, dates and lot numbers should agree with the label and packing record. A generic sample COA helps evaluate document design but cannot release a commercial batch, and a polished PDF without traceability should not be treated as proof.
- Approved product specification
- Lot-specific signed COA
- HPLC purity evidence
- MS identity evidence
- Additional agreed tests and release status

Check the legal entity, manufacturing-site address, certified activity, standard or regulatory program, product scope, certificate number, issuing body, issue date and expiry date. Then confirm the document with the issuer or authoritative register when possible. A certificate covering a sales office, packaging activity or different facility does not automatically support peptide synthesis at another site. Terms such as GMP, ISO, FDA registered, DMF, CEP or inspected have different meanings and should never be treated as interchangeable. Registration is not product approval, and a quality-system certificate does not prove that one batch meets its specification. PeptideSum presents certificates or compliance statements only where applicable and verifiable; buyers should request the current document and scope needed for their own supplier qualification rather than relying on an icon or unrestricted marketing statement.
- Legal entity and physical site
- Standard, activity and product scope
- Issuer and certificate number
- Current validity period
- Independent verification source
Review the site quality approach ↗03Which safety, storage and handling files may be needed?
The required files depend on the material's form, hazards, intended context and destination. An SDS or MSDS communicates hazard and handling information where applicable; it is not a certificate of purity. A technical data sheet can summarize identity, specification, use context and handling guidance but does not replace the lot COA. A storage statement should define the material and condition it covers, including whether it applies only to unopened lyophilized material. Solubility guidance is sequence-, concentration-, solvent- and pH-dependent and should be treated as a development starting point. For international shipments, the buyer may also need a commercial invoice, packing list, origin or transport information. Confirm the exact document title, revision, language and lot linkage before ordering, because not every file type applies to every peptide or market.
- SDS or MSDS where applicable
- Current technical data sheet
- Material-specific storage statement
- Solubility guidance with boundaries
- Shipment documents by destination

Public files are suitable for general discovery and may include catalog information, educational guides and representative checklists. Controlled documents—such as current quality questionnaires, site profiles or certain method summaries—may require a qualified company, project context or confidentiality review. Lot-specific COAs and analytical evidence are released against the relevant product, batch or order. Confidential records, detailed batch information, audit responses and proprietary sequences may require an NDA and defined recipient. This access model protects data integrity and commercial confidentiality while giving buyers the evidence needed for a proportionate decision. State the document list and purpose in the inquiry so the team can confirm availability, revision and release conditions. Absence from a public download page does not prove a record does not exist, and public availability should never be confused with authenticity or applicability.
- Public educational and catalog files
- Controlled qualification records
- Lot-specific release documents
- NDA-protected technical information
- Named recipient and intended review purpose
